About Us
The idea behind Traveling Mini Speedway was first discussed during one November evening in 2007.  Dan and his girlfriend (now fiance, Lori) were enjoying some relaxation time as they discussed what they'd like to do if they were to start a business which would also benefit others.  Dan knew that he wanted to have a business involving radio controlled vehicles that could be used to entertain at various venues.  And so, the research began into which vehicles to use, what timing system to buy, and what materials would best suit a mobile racing track.  We now have the capability to set up a track, timing system, and driver tables in about 1 1/2 hours.  Traveling Mini Speedway's home is in South New Jersey, but if your next party or Team Building Event has a different location, then contact us to arrange for us to travel to you!

DAN, THE OWNER

Born in 1970, Dan was always fascinated with small scale vehicles - cars, planes, and trains.  His first love was MatchBox cars, followed by trains, and then radio control.  He used to have dreams where radio controlled planes would buzz around his house and land in his driveway.  But when he ran out the door to grab one, they all took off and flew away.  Now that he is all grown up (but still a kid at heart), he is able to enjoy the things that he used to just dream about.

Dan has been a member of two radio-controlled aircraft clubs since 2000, and has competed at the Regional and National Levels in 1/12 scale Radio-Controlled Combat.  This is where radio-controlled scaled down versions of World War II fighter planes chase one another in an effort to cut a streamer (with its propellor) tied to the tail of a competitor's airplane.

Starting in 2008, Dan began competing at the National Level in 1/18 scale radio-controlled indoor off-road car racing.  He only races once per year, but is improving rapidly and has finished as high as third overall.

Dan can be seen below, proudly displaying his Third Place Plaque from the 2010 Nationals:
